Purdue v Eastern Michigan Prediction

The Boilermakers should cruise on this one.

So the boilermakers fell to the wildcats last Thursday in what would have given them a lead in the B1G west. So while that loss does hurt we now need to shift our attention over to our next opponent the Eagles of Eastern Michigan.

PURDUE
2018 Record 0-1 (Lost to Northwestern)

While Purdue did struggle last Thursday they put up some huge numbers in the way of offence. Sindelar put up 196 yards passing out of 18 completions with one touchdown coming from the freshman star Rondale Moore and Blough had 75 yards out of 12 completions. the run game was huge for the boilermakers as the had 202 rushing yard for 2 touchdowns on 25 carries. One of those touchdowns being Moore's 76 yd TD-run. The biggest thing that will need to be worked on before this game is turnovers. Sindelar threw 3 INT's for 21 points one of those came from a great defensive play from  a NU defender but the other two came from poor passing and Sindelar trying to play "hero" ball.

The Defense for the most part looked pretty solid as they allowed 235 yards through the air and allowed 166 yards on the ground While those aren't bad their is still room for improvement. What the defense needs to do is to stop the run as all of NU's points came from the run. and giving up 5.5 yards every time Larkin had the ball.

EASTERN MICHIGAN
2018 Record 1-0 (Won against Monmouth)

The eagles gave Monmouth fits on offence thanks to Tyler Wiegers 238 passing yards for 2 TD on 18 completions as well as Mike Glass with his pair of TD's as well as 30 yards on his 3 completions. Most of the eagles's production on offence was through the air as the run game lagged behind with 171 yards on 39 attempts.

Defense had a impressive game only giving up 199 yards through the air and 187 yards on the ground with only one INT coming from their LB Kyle Rachwal. The only thing that looks glaring on defense is the run game as Monmouth had 187 yards on 34 carries.

VERDICT

The Eagles put up some huge numbers on offence and shut Monmouth down on defense but Monmouth is a FCS school so the Eagles have not been challenge this season at all. And the the last MAC team Purdue beat was Ohio last year 44-21 at home so this should be nothing more than a easy win for the boilermakers. As long as Sindelar doesn't play hero ball, offense should be golden. and if defense can create pressure for either Wiegers or Glass they can easily shut this team down so my prediction has to be Purdue for this one.
