Midweek Madness Hoops Edition
We are finally back after what seems like ages, and we have a nice double header for you guys today.
#3 Tennessee v Georgia
SEC conference games are under way as Georgia faces off against Tennessee. Tennessee offense is averaging 85 PPG with 4 guys that are averaging 10+ points per game. They are also a really good ball handling team averaging 21 assist per game. Their leading scorers Grant Williams (20 PPG), Admiral Schofield (18 PPG), Jordan Bone (14 PPG), and Kyle Alexander (10 PPG) will pose a tough challenge for this Bulldog defense as they can get to the basket and make their shot from not just the paint, but from behind the arch as well.
There's nothing much to talk about Georgia. They average 79 PPG, but struggle with turnovers as they commit 17 per game. They only have 2 guys that can be threats behind the arch which is Rayshaun Hammonds (20 PPG, 46% 3-pt), and Tyree Crump (11 PPG, 43% 3-pt). So with Tennessee's defense that is allowing 66 PPG and making it tough for teams to shoot the 3-ball. and with Georgia turnover problem, This should be and easy game for the Vols. Tennessee
#14 Ohio St. v #8 MSU
A fun B1G matchup against two undefeated teams in conference play. OSU offense is averaging 78 PPG. I would watch out for Kyle Young who will probably come off the bench for OSU, while he does average 7 PPG, he is a whopping 70% from the floor. Kaleb Wesson (16 PPG, 54% FG), C.J. Jackson (14 PPG, 42% FG) will be your top scorers for OSU. They do struggle hitting shots behind the arch as they make 37% of their shots.
MSU's offense averages 88 PPG. And they also average 22 assist per game which makes them a good ball handling teams as they can feed the ball to other players to get open looks. Cassius Winston (17 PPG, 47% FG), Nick Ward (16 PPG, 67% FG), and Joshua Langford (15 PPG, 44% FG) are you leading scorers for MSU. They are a decent shooting team from behind the arch as they have 3 guys shooting 40%+ with Xavier Tillman averaging 50% from 3. This game might be low scoring as both teams have really good defenses, as they are keeping teams below 40% from the floor and keeping teams well below 35% from 3 as OSU holds teams to just 29% from the arch. This will be a good one with MSU edging Ohio St. in a thriller. Michigan St.
