Purdue v #25 Indiana

Purdue squares off against rival IU in Mackey

Purdue took care of business against lowly Rutgers, now its time for the main event

Purdue v #25 Indiana

Purdue is finally looking like a complete team, averaging 79 PPG on offense. Our top scorers are still Carsen Edwards (25 PPG), and Ryan Cline (13 PPG). Our lineup has guys who can shoot really well from the floor, but the guys to watch are Haarms (59% FG), Nojel Eastern (54% FG), and Grady Eifert (50% FG). Our deep threats are the usual with Cline (41%), and Edwards (38%). But also watch out for Eifert who is averaging 41% from deep. On defense, nothing much has changed except we are holding teams to 69 PPG, and we are still forcing 14 turnover a game to our 11 that we commit per game. The one thing I think we can improve on is penalties, In the second half against Rutgers, we had committed 10 turnovers to put them in the double bonus with 8:54 to go in the game while Rutgers only committed just 4. And while this wont matter since IU is 66% at the line. We cannot have our stars go out early due to foul trouble against IU.

IU is in a slum right now. After starting 3-0 in conference play they have since lost 3 straight, 2 on the road against #2 Michigan, and now ranked #19 Maryland. As well as a embarrassing lost to unranked Nebraska. They are averaging 76 PPG on offense. Their two leading scorers are Romeo Langford (19 PPG), and Juwan Morgan (16 PPG). Like Purdue, IU has guys who can shoot really well from the floor but players to look out for are Langford (50% FG), Morgan (62% FG), and Justin Smith (56% FG). IU's deep presence will come from Morgan (41%), Evan Fitzner (38%), and Aljami Durham (41%). On defense they hold teams to 66 PPG, and are forcing 14 turnovers a game while committing a whopping 13 per game.

What is this game out look, well I see Morgan giving us problems as usual as he's like Ethan Happ except he can shoot the 3. And IU's struggles to get offensive boards as they only average 8 per game. As well as turnovers. Langford might be tough but manageable. Since this game is at Mackey and Purdue is surging while IU's sliding, this will be a Purdue victory to close the week out before we go to Columbus. Purdue
