#14 Purdue v Illinois

Purdue looks to remain unbeaten at home as they hunt for their 24th B1G title.

#14 Purdue v Illinois

Scoring wise, Purdue edges out the Illini with 77 PPG compared to the Illini's 74 PPG. Both teams are even in the way of shooting from the floor, as the Illini are 43% and Purdue is 44%, The go-to guy for Illinois in the paint is Giorgi Bezhanishvili at 53% and Andres Feilz at 46%. For Purdue it's Matt Haarms (62%), Trevion Williams (56%), and Grady Eifert (52%). Both teams are decent from deep, with the Boilers edging the Illini with 36% compared to 34%.  Deep threats for the Illini are Aaron Jordan (41%), and Trent Frazier at 40%. It gets a little complicated for Purdue, the best shooters from 3-pt range for Purdue is Ryan Cline (43%), and Grady Eifert (40%). But I'm also putting Carsen Edwards here at 34%, because when Carsen is feeling it, he is on, but he hasn't lately due to him being in a slump. Purdue is a good ball handling team, forcing 13 turnovers a game while committing only 11. Illinois on the other hand forces 17 turnovers a game while only just committing 13. In scoring, the Illini have 3 guys averaging double figures. (Ayo Dosunmu and Trent Frazier 14, and Giorgi Bezhanishvili 12). Purdue only has 2 (Carsen Edwards 23, and Ryan Cline 12).

Purdue has not lost in Mackey since Ohio St. last season. Purdue can not look past Illinois. Carsen is due to break out of his slump, and Purdue has a deep bench that can step up when Carsen isn't doing much. Purdue has the size inside to compete with Illinois and have the options from deep. I think this will be a tough one but Purdue holds on without Carsen to stay unbeaten in Mackey. Purdue
