#15 Purdue v Nebraska

After a long break, Purdue is back at it again in Mackey.

Purdue had a 5 day break which should be plenty of time to heal up and rest before playing Nebraska.

#15 Purdue v Nebraska

Purdue is averaging 79 PPG on offense. Their top scorers are Carsen Edwards (24 PPG), and Ryan Cline (13 PPG). The Boilermakers are a pretty good shooting team, averaging 46% from the floor with a dominant interior big man Matt Haarms (64%). Purdue is hot and cold when it comes to shooting deep, but they average 38% thanks to Edwards (38%), Cline (44%), and Grady Eifert (40%). On defense they hold teams to 69 PPG, and are forcing 14 turnovers a game while committing 11 turnovers a game.

Nebraska is averaging 73 PPG, Their top scorers are James Palmer Jr. (19 PPG), Glynn Watson Jr. (12 PPG), and Isaiah Roby (11 PPG). They are a decent shooting team averaging 43% from the floor with Tanner Borchardt being their big interior presence with 60%, but he's only made 40 baskets this season and is averaging around 2 Baskets per game. They struggle with the deep ball, averaging 36%. Their only deep threats are Watson Jr. and Thomas Allen both at 36%. On defense they hold teams to 63 PPG and force 14 turnovers a game while committing just 10.

Nebraska's numbers seem a bit skewed since they lost Issac Copeland who was their second leading scorer at 14 PPG and their best interior man at 52% from the floor and 35% from deep. But outside of Copeland, they have no presence in the post, they have no go-to guy to make those easy shots in the paint. These are two of the best teams in the way with ball control as both don't turn the ball over much but force a ton of turnovers, so it will be interesting to watch. But bottom line, I see Nebraska playing it close, but with the lack of 3-pt shooters, and with the duo of Matt Haarms, and Trevion Williams (6 PPG, 60% FG), and with the shooting of Cline and Edwards. The Huskers have no shot. #15 Purdue
