#14 Purdue @ Minnesota

Purdue heads to the barn with a 24th B1G regular season on the line.

Purdue is two games away from securing their 24th B1G title, but the only team that's in the way, is Minnesota.

Minnesota v #11 Purdue

Right off the bat, the Boilermakers beat Minnesota in the way of points, with Purdue averaging 77, to Minnesota's 71. Both teams are pretty even shooting wise, with Purdue edging out the Gophers at 45% to 44%. Purdue has interior threats like Matt Haarms at 64% and Trevion Williams at 56%, and Grady Eifert at 53%. Minnesota's interior presence lies with Daniel Oturu with 56%. The Gopher's struggle with shooting from beyond the arch at 32% with their one and only threat being Gabe Kalscheur at a 42% clip from three. Purdue averages 37% from deep with threats from Ryan Cline (41%), Grady Eifert (43%), and Carsen Edwards (35%). The Gophers have four guys that average double figure points a game with Amir Coffey and Jordan Murpgy both having 15 apiece. Gabe Kalscheur and Daniel Oturu both having 11. Purdue only has 2 (Carsen Edwards 23, and Ryan Cline 12). Both teams don't turn the ball over with Minnesota forcing and also committing 12 turnovers a game. And Purdue forcing 13 turnovers a game and committing just 11 a game.

This will be far from easy, with Minnesota playing with nothing to loose and on senior night, it will not be easy, in the last meeting, Trevion help us when our offense couldn't get anything going, and Mackey will our way back to a 10 point win. I would expect to see Haarms have a night, and with Carsen coming out of his slump, and with our defense improving game by game. It will be a dogfight until late second half where Purdue's offense is too much for the Gopher's. Purdue

  1. Gophers are actually playing for their postseason life. Like IU they are on the NCAA bubble and a Q1 win against us would be huge to help their resume...
