Midweek Madness

The hunt for the playoffs starts today.

With just under 2 weeks before the start of the 2019-20 season. And we have a chance for some pretty good football to start this season.

Louisville v #9 Notre Dame

Notre Dame is entering this season hoping to repeat another Playoff berth with a more positive outcome, while Louisville is looking for a spark with a first year head coach. The odds are stacked against the Cardinals as their defense was absolutely atrocious especially  the the run game. The best part for Louisville is that they return almost everybody. Notre Dame lost Brandon Wimbush to UCF, but with Ian Book being the starter, it wont mater, although they do loose some depth at the QB position making it a bit thin. But outside of that they outperform Louisville on both offense and defense. While Notre Dame is losing some good players in very important positions, this will still be an elite team, and I don't see Louisville getting it done under a first year coach. Notre Dame

#1 Clemson v Georgia Tech

The reigning national champions are looking for a repeat this season and Georgia Tech is looking to capitalize on their bowl run last season. Unfortunately this will not be a game that the yellow jackets will win. as Clemson is just a brick wall on defense particularly in the run game where that is GT's bread and butter. Trevor Lawrence had a breakout season last year and I wouldn't be surprised if he win the Heisman this year. Bottom line, there is just way to much talent on this Clemson team for Georgia Tech to handle, and with it being a home game for Clemson, the writing is on the wall for Georgia. Clemson

#8 Florida v Miami

The first game of the 2019 season starts here with Miami and Florida. Both teams did pretty well last seaon with Florida beating Michigan and Miami loosing in the Pinstripe bowl to the Badgers. Miami comes into this game with an offense that was pretty balanced, and a defense that held teams last year to under 200 in passing and 150 in rushing yards recpectively. Florida comes in with a similar offense and defense. But for this game, Im going with Florida, as injuries leave Miami's roster short and leaving some of their best players questionable at best. And with florida returning almost everyone and having living to no injuries. This will be a fun game to watch. Florida
